Ash Connor reflects on (almost) 200 games in charge
By Stephen Thirkill Joint boss Ash Connor perhaps has more reason than most to hope for three points when Golcar United face Nelson. Connor will take charge of his 200th game as United boss, along with brother Gav, when the Weavers’ face Nelson at home on 12th December. And for Ash it is a magic landmark he is very proud to have achieved. “It is a good achievement that we are looking forward to,” he said. “We only found out the other day that it was our 200th game. “The progress that we have made in that time is massive. When we started seven seasons ago we had an average park field. “It's brilliant what has been achieved in that time and the facilities are constantly improving, this is down to the amount of good people we have volunteering at the club on a weekly basis which all the management and players really appreciate.
